The biggest class of the tour the Burris Thunder Heavy group put on a show in their feature with Matt Dove taking the win over Brandon Askren and Andy Keller. Competition was fierce with 26 entries for only 16 spots. Heat races and Conci's set the starting field for what would be the wildest feature of the night. 4 wide racing with 2 laps remaining provided excitement for all in attendance.
The victory in Burris Thunder Animal went to Zach Axlen followed by Buddy Wilson and Jordan Fox.
Burris Thunder Junior was won in dominating fashion by Jake Wash on Trick Speed Cuts of Joliet tires. With his feature win on Trick Speed tires, Jake will receive a free set of right sides from Trick Speed Cuts of Joliet. John Plotner and Henry Houlser rounded out the top 3 in a hotly contested Junior showdown.
The Burris Thunder Clone class feature provided a three kart breakaway that lasted the full length of the feature. Positions changed hands several times with a last lap pass for second in turn 3 that put both drivers into the grass in turn 4. Both drivers were able to recover and complete the race ahead of fourth place. Bryan Rose took the feature victory followed by Andy Knoderer and Andy Kozlowski.
Overall, the first race of the Burris Thunder Tour was a tremendous success for all involved. Can't wait to see everyone for Round #2 on June 12th at Lake Village Motor Speedway! Full Running orders below:
